The Wright-Patt Credit Union, Inc. (WPCU) Board of Directors has named Timothy (Tim) J. Mislansky as the next President and Chief Executive Officer of the organization. An experienced business leader, Mr. Mislansky will succeed Douglas (Doug) A. Fecher and assume responsibilities on January 1, 2022. Mr. Fecher announced his retirement in late June of this year.
Mislansky has 25 years of senior management experience, including 20 years of member-center strategic development and plan execution at WPCU and myCUmortgage - a wholly owned Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO) of WPCU. Most recently he served as the Chief Strategy Officer for WPCU. Prior to that, he served as a Senior Vice President of WPCU and President of myCUmortgage. Mislansky launched myCUmortgage in 2001 from scratch to become the largest CUSO mortgage operation in the country. In addition, he has been integral in the development of a series of new enterprise initiatives aimed at developing new sources of revenue and serves as the credit union's catalyst for digital transformation for the cooperative.
“The WPCU Board of Directors and I are confident Tim is the right leader for the credit union as we continue to innovate and serve our members," said Joseph (Joe) Linsenmeyer, WPCU's Chairman of the Board. “Not only does Tim bring with him an extensive background with WPCU, but he also brings exceptional experience within the industry in creating new business opportunities. All of this will continue to help WPCU achieve its objectives for our members, partner-employees, and the communities we serve. In addition, Tim will be instrumental in ensuring our service culture remains a strong focus for the credit union."
The WPCU Board of Directors spent the past six months conducting an extensive search to identify the best candidate to lead the credit union. Out of all the candidates, Mislansky best demonstrated the ability to continue ensuring the credit union's ongoing commitment to its employees and members. He's already an integral part of the WPCU team and dedicated to its vision and mission.
“It is a tremendous honor to lead the WPCU team and I'm incredibly excited to assume this new role," said Mislansky. “As I reflect over the past 20 years, I'm proud of everything our team has already accomplished and I'm thankful for Doug's leadership and mentoring over the years. I'm honored to carry his legacy forward. Looking toward the future, we will continue to focus on providing the best banking experience that helps to economically uplift Main Street Ohioans so they can lead better lives." Mislansky continued by saying, “This aligns with WPCU's vision, mission, values, our relentless focus to take great care of members and employees, the nature of the cooperative model and my own personal values. The credit union offers a very strong economic value all around and more."
Mislansky is currently the Chair of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Advocacy Housing Subcommittee. He is also a board member for the following organizations: Credit Union Student Choice, CU Realty and the American Credit Union Mortgage Association. He's a member of the Filene Research Think Tank, has served as an advisory board member for various credit union advisory boards, was a founding board member for the Ohio Credit Union Foundation, served as treasurer for the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton and was a board member for HomeOwnership Center of Greater Dayton. He also devotes his personal time as a volunteer to the Broken Bus Ministry and as finance chair for his church.
Awards received by Mislansky include the Dayton Business Journal's 40 Under 40 Award winner in 2011, the Marie Kindrick Fair Housing Award by the Dayton Area Board of Realtors in 2012 and he was named an inaugural member of the William A. Herring Society in 2011.
Mislansky received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and finance from Miami University in 1993. He is also a graduate of the Credit Union Executive CEO Institute. He spends his personal time with his wife of 23 years, Julie, and his two college-age children, Joe and Mary. As a Cleveland native, he enjoys rooting on his hometown sports teams, going to concerts, and spending quality time with his family.
